Backstage Video Production Captures Wonder Woman

backstage video productionFor the 17th year, we were the exclusive backstage video production for the 2018 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala as “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot was honored, along with Golden Globe winners Allison Janney, Gary Oldman, Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan, in addition to Mary J. Blige, Timothee Chalamet, Jessica Chastain, Willem Dafoe, Holly Hunter and “The Shape of Water” director and stars.

Gadot received the gala’s Rising Star Actress Award, presented by her “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins. After her speech, Gadot and Jenkins met gala host Mary Hart backstage for an exclusive interview for TV’s “Entertainment Tonight.” The two-camera interview was overseen by our Solana Productions producer Rory Bennett, who worked with Hart when she hosted “ET” for 29 years.

Our producer also handled Hart’s two-camera interview with Janney immediately after she received the gala’s Spotlight Award Actress as Tonya Harding’s mother in “I, Tonya.” The following weekend Janney received a Golden Globe Award for the same role. Oldman, who also went on to win a Golden Globe for his performance as Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour,” received the gala’s Desert Palm Achievement Actor Award and was also interviewed by Hart for “ET” backstage.

Our Solana Productions producer also oversaw Hart’s backstage interview with Rockwell, another Golden Globe winner for his role as a racist deputy in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” He was honored at the gala with the Spotlight Actor Award.

Timothee Chalamet, who was presented with the gala’s Rising Star Actor award by his “Call Me By Your Name” co-star Armie Hammer, was also interviewed backstage by Hart, as was Mary J. Blige, who received the Breakthrough Performance Award from Common for her role in “Mudbound.”

Our producer also oversaw Hart’s exclusive backstage interviews with Hunter, who received the gala’s Career Achievement Award for her performance in “The Big Sick,” and Dafoe, who won the Icon Award for his role in “The Florida Project.” In addition, Hart interviewed director Guillermo del Toro and the stars of his Golden Globe-winning film, “The Shape of Water” immediately after they received the gala’s Vanguard Award.

In addition to overseeing backstage video production, our producer was on the festival gala’s red carpet, covering limo arrivals of the stars and presenters.

Live Event Video Production for Doodles Fundraiser

Our live event video production crew recently pitched in to help a great cause — the Desert AIDS Project in Palm Springs. Their annual Celebrity Doodles fundraiser needed a little help with publicity, so we gladly donated video equipment and crew to cover the event for TV’s “Entertainment Tonight.”

Our cameraman, soundman and producer arrived early to videotape the amazing silent auction display of drawings, notes, collages and autographed items donated by Lady Gaga, Olivia Newton-John, Donny and Marie Osmond, Vanessa Williams, Kylie Minogue, fashion designer Bob Mackie and others. Next, we interviewed the many celebrities in attendance, including Barry Manilow, Suzanne Somers and husband Alan Hamel, Lorna Luft and Susan Anton.  As the fun-filled gala unfolded, our crew shot the on-stage awards and entertainment, which featured a rousing performance by Taylor Dayne.  The event raised thousands of dollars for Desert AIDS Project and we were honored to help!

Our latest San Diego sports video production has taken us across the wide world of sports — from the LPGA tour to international soccer!

sports video production nabisco-golfIn beautiful Rancho Mirage, your intrepid San Diego field producer and her San Diego video crew joined “Entertainment Tonight” host Mary Hart at the Kraft Nabisco Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament. We covered Mary’s amazing golf skills and her participation in a storytelling benefit for local kids, “Reading On the Green” — our interviews and footage airing March 29 on “ET.” That same day, another of our San Diego video crews scored major points at Qualcomm Stadium, where 60,000-plus fans packed the stands for the Mexico vs. Venezuela exhibition soccer match. Shooting for Degree Men, one of the sponsors, our crew worked every angle on the field and snagged interviews with soccer stars Felix Hernandez and Jared Borgetti.

When Stars Swarm, We Storm For a Palm Springs Video Production

For the 10th year in a row, our Palm Springs video production crews stormed the star-studded Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala with all-access passes that took us up front, backstage, behind the scenes –and just about everywhere else. Palm Springs video productionThis Palm Springs video production put us in first position on the red carpet, where your favorite San Diego field producer grabbed interviews with arriving stars Jake Gyllenhall, Natalie Portman, Ben Affleck, Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams, James Franco, Colin Firth, Jennifer Lawrence, Carey Mulligan, Robert Duvall, Aaron Eckhart and more. During the gala, we moved backstage for “Entertainment Tonight” host Mary Hart’s exclusive interviews — and shot behind-the-scenes with Mary for a segment on the making of our “ET” segment in Palm Springs. The festival, created 22 years ago by the late Palm Springs Congressman and music icon Sonny Bono, was taking place just as news was breaking about the tragic shootings of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 20 others in Tucson. I conducted an emotional interview about the tragedy with Sonny’s widow, Rep. Mary Bono Mack — who is now married to Florida Rep. Connie Mack. Choking back tears, Bono Mack, a Republican, told me about her friendship and positive working relationship with the Arizona Democratic congresswoman. That interview and our film festival coverage aired on Monday’s “Entertainment Tonight.” Our behind-the-scenes story on the film festival will be broadcast this weekend.
