Live Event Video Production for Doodles Fundraiser

Our live event video production crew recently pitched in to help a great cause — the Desert AIDS Project in Palm Springs. Their annual Celebrity Doodles fundraiser needed a little help with publicity, so we gladly donated video equipment and crew to cover the event for TV’s “Entertainment Tonight.”

Cash Advance In Dallas Tx

Our cameraman, soundman and producer arrived early to videotape the amazing silent auction display of drawings, notes, collages and autographed items donated by Lady Gaga, Olivia Newton-John, Donny and Marie Osmond, Vanessa Williams, Kylie Minogue, fashion designer Bob Mackie and others. Next, we interviewed the many celebrities in attendance, including Barry Manilow, Suzanne Somers and husband Alan Hamel, Lorna Luft and Susan Anton.  As the fun-filled gala unfolded, our crew shot the on-stage awards and entertainment, which featured a rousing performance by Taylor Dayne.  The event raised thousands of dollars for Desert AIDS Project and we were honored to help!

It’s the 13th year Solana Productions video crews and San Diego producer have covered the event, where we we’re always first on the red carpet and exclusive backstage. After shooting arrival interviews, our two crews moved inside the gala to light and shoot Mary Hart’s exclusive one-on-ones with Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks, Matthew McConaughey, Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Bruce Dern and other potential Oscar nominees for “Entertainment Tonight.” Another of our San Diego crews shot red carpet arrivals for TV’s “The Insider,” and handled the show’s coverage of the film festival’s star-studded brunch the next day. #sandiegovideoproduction #sandiegocameracrew #sandiegoproducer #palmspringsfilmfestival #juliaroberts #sandrabullock #tomhanks #matthewmcconaughey #bradleycooper #merylstreep

Streaming TV Services - All-Star Comic-Con Coverage! Our San Diego streaming TV services team were up and running 24/7 during Comic-Con, capturing exclusive footage of Tom Cruise signing autographs, and shooting dozens of star interviews inside private hotel suites. We pressed four San Diego video crews into service, two of which rolled non-stop for five days at the Warner Bros. booth inside the main exhibit hall. That’s where they videotaped Cruise’s surprise appearance to promote his upcoming film, “Edge of Tomorrow,” alongside co-stars Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton. Another of our Comic-Con video crews spent three days inside the Hard Rock Hotel, shooting star interviews — including this one with Hugh Jackman — for TV’s “Entertainment Tonight.” Our San Diego field producer and a fourth crew were based at the Bayfront Hilton, conducting star interviews inside a private one-on-one suite, on press lines and at parties and events for TV’s “omg!Insider.”

HD Crew Helps Sow Seeds of Change for Veterans

The San Diego video crew shot interviews and footage illustrating how former Marine Corps rifleman Colin “Archi” Archipley and his wife Karen turned a run-down avocado farm into a thriving agriculture business that’s helped more than 100 veterans make the difficult transition to civilian life. You’ll find “Archi’s Acres” organic basil, kale and avocados at Whole Foods and other markets throughout Southern California. Video Production Team Hobnobbing With “The Hobbit” Director

We didn’t get to travel to Middle Earth, but our video production team was chosen to help Academy Award-winning director Peter Jackson document his visit to this year’s Comic-Con. The San Diego camera crew followed Jackson as he arrived, greeted fans, introduced stars of his upcoming film, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” and presented exclusive footage at the annual pop culture extravaganza. The movie stars Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom, and is due out Dec. 14. It’s the first of three prequels to the “Lord of The Rings” film trilogy, all based on the J.R.R. Tolkien novels. Jackson used the footage of his Comic-Con visit as part of the eighth installment of his production diary, which has nearly 400,000 views so far on YouTube. Los Angeles Video Production Services Takes Bite Out of Primetime Special

Solana Productions Los Angeles video production services is definitely ready for primetime — shooting 3-camera segments for an hourlong ABC fall preview special that airs next month. The Los Angeles video productions feature the co-hosts of ABC’s food/lifestyle program “The Chew” giving viewers a sneak peek at the network’s fall primetime lineup. Three Solana crews shot on location at famed Johnie’s Coffee Shop in LA, where “The Chew” co-host Carla Hall interviewed Jami Gertz and other stars of the new ABC sitcom, “The Neighbors.” Our crews took charge of all pre-production, lighting, sound and videotaping needs, shooting on Sony XD 800 cameras. For a preview of country music superstar Reba’s new sitcom, “Malibu Country,” three Solana crews rigged an LA food truck with cameras, lighting and sound gear — then rolled on Reba tasting tacos with “The Chew’s” Daphne Oz. The Solana Productions footage will be featured on “The Chew Presents ABC’s Primetime Fall Preview Special,” airing Sunday, Sept. 2.

Convention Video Productions – Just Another Sony Day With Spidey

One of our most talked-about San Diego convention video productions at Comic-Con this year was our “Face of the Fan” segment for Sony Pictures upcoming movie, “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Your favorite San Diego field producer and her Comic-Con crew spent a day with Steven, from New York, who won a trip to the annual entertainment extravaganza as part of Sony’s nationwide search for the ultimate Spider-Man fan. With no TV experience whatsover, Steven untangled himself from a web of nerves for a one-on-one interview with Andrew Garfield, who’s starring as Spidey and Peter Parker. Steven also spoke with fellow fans and experienced Sony’s exclusive previews of “The Amazing Spider-Man,” which swings into theaters next summer. Check out Steven’s dream-come-true that we were happy to be a part of! Click here

Video Services – Comic-Con: Where the Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth

Time to dust off the Darth Vader suit and pull out the Princess Peach costume! In just days, our San Diego video services will be meeting the costumed masses at the annual entertainment extravaganza known as Comic-Con International.

Video Services - Comic-Con: Where the Geeks Shall Inherit the EarthIt’s the 11th year our Comic-Con crews (sorry, we don’t come in costume) have covered the chaotic combo of Hollywood star appearances, movie and TV previews, video game unveilings, zombie parades and more! The New York Times reports the Hollywood studios are curtailing their involvement this year…….yeah, right! Already, our San Diego video crews and your favorite San Diego field producer have been booked by Sony, HBO, MTV and “Entertainment Tonight” for the four-day event, which shows no signs of slowing down. I’ve had a look at the tentative studio schedules, which so far, include Steven Spielberg’s first-ever appearance, the “Cowboys & Aliens” premiere featuring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, a big outdoor stunt promoting “Cowboys & Aliens,” a return appearance by Nicholas Cage, a “Twilight: Breaking Dawn” event, the introduction of “The Amazing Spiderman” cast and tons of TV meet-and-greets. That doesn’t even include the “secret” and “underground” events, like the 2009 “Alice In Wonderland” set display in an empty storefront. Plus, I’m hearing about more international TV and press coverage this year. The truth is the San Diego Convention Center can’t contain all the entertainment industry hype, which spills onto the downtown streets and into nearby hotels and theaters! Comic-Con — it’s serious business.
